Alexei Konow
Alexei Konow ( Russian Алексей Конов , English transcription Aleksey Konov; born March 3, 1938 in Moscow Oblast ) is a former Soviet obstacle and long-distance runner .
At the Olympic Games in Rome in 1960, he came eighth over 3000 m obstacle after he had made pace in the final for his teammates Nikolai Sokolow and Semjon Rschishchin , who won silver and bronze.
In 1962 he won silver over 5000 m at the World Festival of Youth and Students and was eighth over 3000 m obstacle at the European Athletics Championships in Belgrade .
In 1961 and 1962 he was the Soviet champion over 3000 m obstacle.
