Alexei Maximowitsch Rehbinder , Russian Алексей Максимович Ребиндер (* 1795 ; † 1869 ) was a Russian lieutenant general and entrepreneur.

Life

origin

Alexei Maximowitsch Rehbinder comes from a widespread German-Baltic family. His father was Otto Friedrich von Rehbinder (* 1750) from Livonia , who adopted the name Максим Карлович Ребиндер when he converted to the Orthodox faith .

Military career

Rehbinder joined the Russian army at the age of 13 and took part in the Russo-Turkish War as a non-commissioned officer . In 1812 in the Patriotic War against Napoleon , Rehbinder a. a. in the battle of Borodino and later came to Paris with his unit.

In 1820 Rehbinder became major and then rose to lieutenant general. He received the Order of St. George 4th Class, the Order of St. Vladimir , the Order of St. Anna and the Prussian Red Eagle Order 2nd Class.

In 1839 Rehbinder founded a sugar factory in the city of Schebekino , which his son Alexander then successfully continued to run.
