Alexei Nikolajewitsch Schestoperow ( Russian Алексей Николаевич Шестоперов ; at the World Chess Federation FIDE Aleksej Shestoperov; born June 25, 1935 , † April 24, 2011 ) was a Russian chess player and coach.

Career

Schestoperow was trained in the chess section of the Saratov Pioneer Palace. After completing his studies at the Faculty of Physics at the Saratov State University , he began his long-term work, first as a staff member, and then as a lecturer in the Department of Electronics at the Saratov Polytechnic Institute.

Even as a student he played promising chess, and in 1954 he won the Saratov city championship. 1961 Schestoperow was national champion, after he won a qualifying duel against Alexander Tschistjakow with 7.5-5.5 last year. With the RSFSR selection, which included Lev Polugajewski , Ratmir Cholmow and Anatoli Lein , he won the III. Spartakiad of the Peoples of the Soviet Union.

In his later years he won the Russian senior individual championship in 1996 in Schaworonki and in 1998 in Sochi . In 2003 Schestoperow received the title of International Master from the World Chess Federation . He achieved the standards for this at the Senior World Championships in Gladenbach in 1999 , in Rowy in 2000 and in Naumburg an der Saale in 2002 .

Schestoperow has also made a name for himself as a coach. His best-known student is GM Yevgeny Tomaschewski , with whom Shestoperov's widow Alexandra Jakowlewna, also a chess trainer, worked for a while.
