Alf Trojan

Alf Trojan (born August 4, 1944 in Rendsburg ) is a medical sociologist and former director of the Institute for Medical Sociology at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf at the University of Hamburg .

Life

Trojan was born in Rendsburg in 1944. After studying human medicine and sociology (qualifications as Dr. med. And Dr. phil.), He began his professional career in 1974 as a member of the medical sociology tutor group at the University of Hamburg. From 1975 to 1976 he completed a Master of Science degree in London (degree M. Sc.). He then became a research assistant in the interdisciplinary facility for medical sociology. In 1984 he was appointed professor and finally in 1985 director of the Institute for Medical Sociology (IMS), Dept. II "Sociology in Medicine". In 2010 he was adopted into retirement. Since 2009 freelance scientific activities in the areas of self-help friendliness and patient orientation in health care as well as health promotion, - especially in the context of the editorial management of the "Guiding Concepts for Health Promotion and Prevention" of the Federal Center for Health Education.
