Alfons Klein (born August 2, 1926 in Essen - Katernberg ; † June 6, 1984 in Gelsenkirchen-Buer ) was a German CDU politician .

education and profession

Alfons Klein was born the son of a miner. After attending primary school, he completed an apprenticeship as a surveying technician. This was interrupted in 1944 when he was called up for the Reich Labor Service and the Wehrmacht . After his return from captivity, he worked as a construction worker from 1945 to 1948, then as a cutter in the mining industry. There he ended his career as Personnel and Social Director at Zeche Schlägel & Eisen in Herten .

politics

Alfons Klein was a member of the CDU from 1947. He was a board member of the CDU district association in Essen and the Christian Democratic Workers' Union (CDA) of the Rhineland and chairman of the CDA in Essen. He was also a member of the mining and energy union . From 1961 to 1971 Klein was councilor of the city of Essen.

Alfons Klein was a member of the seventh state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia from July 26, 1970 to May 27, 1975 , into which he entered via the state list.

Alfons Klein died on June 6, 1984 and was buried in the Catholic cemetery in Essen-Katernberg.
