Alfons Schneider
Alfons Schneider (born August 29, 1923 in Regensburg ; † December 28, 2011 there ) was a German politician ( SPD ).
Life
Schneider's parents died when he was eleven, so he grew up in an orphanage from then on. He attended elementary school and grammar school in Regensburg before he was called to the Wehrmacht . After his release from American captivity , he began training as a teacher, also in Regensburg. He passed both exams for teaching, one of them in Amberg . In 1951 he began to work as a teacher, part-time also at the vocational school. Schneider was a member of the Regensburg city council from 1966 and of the Bavarian state parliament from 1970 to 1978 .
