Alfons Wiederkehr (born December 16, 1915 in Rudolfstetten ; died July 24, 1985 in Zug ) was a Swiss architect . Together with Leo Hafner, he ran an architecture office in Zug, which became important for his post-war modern buildings in central Switzerland, especially in the canton of Zug .

Life

Alfons Wiederkehr learned the profession of structural draftsman from Keizer and Bracher from 1933 to 1937 . He was then employed there until 1948, when he started his own business with the young Hafner who had just finished college. During the Second World War he was engaged in the construction of defensive structures in Aargau and in the Swiss Reduit as part of his active service .

Hafner and return

The office that he ran together with Hafner became one of the leading Zug offices in post-war modernism, with over a hundred buildings, some of them award-winning. In the office, Wiederkehr was primarily responsible for the administrative and commercial part.
