Alfonso García González

Alfonso García González (born March 19, 1909 in Toluca de Lerdo , † December 2, 1961 ) was a Mexican ambassador .

Life

González attended the Colegio Legorreta and the Colegio San José in Toluca de Lerdo. He graduated from high school at the Escuela Nacional Preparatoria and graduated from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) with a degree in law in 1931 . From 1931 to 1947 he practiced the profession of lawyer. He was a clerk at the Eighth Criminal Court in Mexico City and a prosecutor in Baja California.

Alfonso García González was a personal friend of Miguel Alemán Valdés , who was present on his deathbed .

González married Dolores Cacho and had no children. In the state of Mexico he was heavyweight boxing champion; from 1926 to 1929 he was on the UNAM boxing team. He took part in the 1927 Central American Games and the ninth Olympic Games as a boxer.

From 1952 to 1953 he was the first constitutionally elected governor of Baja California . In 1958 he was a candidate for a seat in parliament.
