Alfonso Vallejo

Alfonso Vallejo (* 1943 in Santander , Cantabria , Spain ) is a Spanish neurologist and professor of medical pathology in Madrid. As a playwright and poet, he published 33 plays and 20 volumes of poetry. His plays have been performed in Europe , the United States, and South America . His works have also been translated into French, German, Arabic, Italian, Portuguese and Bulgarian. He also works as a painter.

Life

Alfonso Vallejo completed his school education between 1950 and 1961 with the French Baccalauréat and the Spanish Bachillerato at the Liceo Francés in Madrid.

In 1958 he stayed in Ushaw-Moor (Durham, UK), in 1962 in Darlington (England) and in 1963 in London. Afterwards he also spent some time in France , Germany , Great Britain and Italy because he could speak these languages.

Between 1961 and 1966 he studied medicine at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid . There he finished his studies and went to the USA in 1968 because of the ECFMG . In the USA, Vallejo specialized in neurology . In 1977 he received his doctorate in medicine from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid .

Medical career

From 1971 to 1973 Vallejo was assistant to the neurologist Portera at the Hospital Clinico in Madrid. In 1973 he became head of clinical neurology at one of the leading hospitals.

Between 1975 and 1985 he was Associate Professor of Neurology at the Universidad Complutense . In 1985 he received the title of Professor of Medical Pathology. He holds these positions in the same hospital.

During his stays abroad between 1966 and 1977 he worked with a number of renowned specialists in Heidelberg , London , Amberes , Copenhagen , Berlin and Paris .

Artistic career

His first play was "Cycle" (1961), which was performed in 1963 with French actors at the French Institute in Madrid. From 1962 to 1964 he was the director of the university theater in the medical faculty at the Universidad Complutense in Madrid. In 1961 and 1982 he wrote a. a. the pieces: “La Sal de la tierra”, “El Bernardo”, “La Mentala”, “El Rodrigüello”, “Morituri”, “Los Toros de Guisando”, “El Tiznao”, “El desterrado”, “El Bernardo” ”,“ La Mentala ”,“ El Rodrigüello ”,“ Morituri ”(“ We are to die ”), the bull by Guisando,“ Passion-time ”(in French) (1974),“ Night Syndrome ”(1980 ), "Angustias" (1981), "Mamuts" (1982).

Some of his works have been translated into English, French, German, Arabic, Italian, Portuguese, Polish and Bulgarian. These pieces have been performed in New York, Miami, Mexico and other South American countries, as well as in Portugal, Great Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Poland and other countries.
