Psychodiagnostics is a "common denominator" of practical professional activity of psychologists, this includes the proper application of scientifically founded psychological test procedures . The award is given to people who make a contribution through innovative test development, computer-based innovations for psychological diagnostics, application-oriented improvements for diagnostic practice, improvement of existing diagnostic methods, new validation strategies, adaptations of existing procedures for certain target groups or the processing of ethical questions in psychodiagnostic work to promote the quality of psychodiagnostics .

Alfred Binet (* 1857; † 1911) was a French psychologist who is considered the founder of psychometrics and who designed the first applicable intelligence test.

The Diagnostics and Testing Board (DTK) of the Federation of German Psychological Associations, together with the specialist group for differential psychology, personality psychology and psychological diagnostics of the German Society for Psychology , will decide on the award of the € 2,500 prize .
