Bochum inventory for job-related personality description and other published test procedures

Rüdiger Hossiep developed the Bochum inventory for job-related personality description (BIP). In the 1980s and 1990s, processes with a clinical background were predominantly used for personnel decisions in Germany. In order to provide users with a professionally relevant tool, Rüdiger Hossiep and co-authors began to construct the BIP in the mid-1990s.

The test has been continuously developed since it was first published in 1998 and is currently in its sixth research version. Due to its scientific foundation and its explicit professional reference, the BIP has been tried and tested as an instrument for personnel decisions and has a high level of acceptance among participants and users. Areas of application of the BIP exist in the following areas, among others: personnel selection and placement, aptitude diagnostics and potential analysis , occupational and career advice as well as training and coaching. The procedure is now used worldwide and exists in numerous languages both in a computer-aided version and as a paper-pencil test.

In addition to the frequently used BIP processes such as the compact process BIP-6F, Hossiep has also published several intelligence tests such as the BOMAT process group and a differential knowledge test . Hossiep and his development team are also working on procedures on the topics of leadership behavior, employee surveys, burnout, work-life balance, service orientation, commitment and the attitudes of drivers towards their cars.
