Practice of Personnel Psychology

Praxis der Personalpsychologie is a series of specialist books by Hogrefe Verlag that provides an overview of the areas relevant to human resource management . The editors have been Heinz Schuler , Rüdiger Hossiep , Martin Kleinmann and Jörg Felfe since 2015 ; the series was founded in 2000 by Heinz Schuler , Rüdiger Hossiep, Martin Kleinmann and Werner Sarges .

The target group of the book series includes in particular executives and personnel managers, personnel and organizational developers as well as consultants and trainers , but also students and teachers of economics and work and organizational psychology as well as those interested in the subject. The publications should be characterized by practical relevance, application-oriented examples and empirically verified findings.

The volumes are structured uniformly for the purpose of faster orientation. Fixed components of this structure are:

  • Description of the content of the topic and differentiation from similar constructs
  • Explanation of the relevance of the topic for human resource management
  • Presentation of relevant models, concepts and empirical research results
  • Presentation of possible approaches and their advantages and disadvantages
  • Case studies from the practice of consultants and from a company perspective
