Lutz F. Hornke

Lutz F. Hornke (born August 27, 1945 in Leipzig ) is a German industrial and organizational psychologist . He has been a professor at RWTH Aachen University since 1986 and has retired since 2010.

Life

After studying psychology at the University of Mannheim , he went to the School of Education at Stanford University in 1972 , where he studied a. a. with Lee Cronbach and Patrick Suppes . In 1975 the doctorate to Dr. phil. at the University of Mannheim and in 1981 the habilitation at the University of Marburg. Since then he has worked as a professor at the Universities of Düsseldorf and Mannheim and held the chair for industrial and organizational psychology at RWTH Aachen University .

The focus of his research is the development of computer-aided adaptive test procedures . In the early 1980s he introduced adaptive procedures with the help of item banks in the personnel selection of the Bundeswehr . This development helped establish adaptive test procedures in large diagnostic programs (Sands, 1997).

Hornke was, among other things, the alumni officer at RWTH Aachen University and was also known for his work as chairman of the committee for the development of DIN 33430 and ISO 10667.

Furthermore, he designed and from 2001 under his leadership the web-based self- assessment process Online Self Assessment of the Association of North German Universities and RWTH Aachen University . These procedures are intended to make it easier for prospective students to choose their subject.

Hornke is a member of the German Society for Psychology and the European Association of Psychological Assessment, of which he was President.
