Alfred Brink (born October 12, 1906 ; † unknown) was a German football player .

Player career

Club career

The middle runner from Berlin played successfully for several years at BFC Preussen . After he repeatedly only reached a midfield position with Prussia in the 1931/32 season, Alfred Brink switched to Hertha BSC , which in 1932 could not qualify for the final round of the German championship for the first time since 1924.

In the old lady , Brink immediately played into the regular eleven and played 17 of 18 games, with only Hanne Sobek and Alfred Stahr playing more games. At the end of the season Brink and his team celebrated the Berlin championship in front of VfB Pankow . Thereby he reached the final round of the German championship for the first time . There, however, the SV Hindenburg Allenstein was a size too big in the 1: 4 bankruptcy in East Prussia . In the following season, Hertha missed defending the title behind BFC Viktoria 1889 with a Brink who played all games . Also in the 1934/35 season, which ended with the title win, Ali Brink completed most of the missions at Hertha together with Stahr. The final round of the German championship in 1935 was disappointing for Brink, who only played one of six games, and for his club, which was eliminated in the group stage behind PSV Chemnitz . The blue-whites would have scored a point in the last two games, but after a 1-0 lead they lost 2-1 to Chemnitz and Vorwärts-Rasensport Gleiwitz . Even if Alfred Brink played all games in 1935/36, he could not prevent Hertha BSC from becoming third in the league, one point behind Berliner SV 92 and SC Minerva 93 . In 1936/37 Brink only played eleven games, but was still able to look forward to qualifying for the DM finals in 1937 . There he played the first three games and even scored one goal. However, he could not prevent FC Schalke 04 and Werder Bremen from placing before Hertha.

Following the season, Alfred Brink ended his active career.

Selection career

Because of his achievements, Reich coach Otto Nerz nominated him on May 24, 1931 for the German national team for the international match against Austria . However, Brink was ultimately not used in the 6-0 defeat.

Alfred Brink was also part of Berlin's city selection for years , with which he won the fighting game cup in 1930 .
