Alfred Fassbind

Alfred A. Fassbind (* 1949 ) is a Swiss musician and author. He is a classic tenor singer .

Fassbind is an oratorio and lieder singer. Numerous tours and television appearances have taken him to Germany, Austria, Italy, Holland, France and Poland. He made various recordings as well as radio broadcasts on music theory topics.

Fassbind has been the official administrator of the estate for the singer Joseph Schmidt (1904–1942) since 1985 . He is the founder and curator of the Joseph Schmidt Archives in Rüti near Zurich .

He also wrote a comprehensive biography about the singer Joseph Schmidt. It was published in 1992 by the Swiss publishing house under the title Traces of a Legend - A Song Goes Around the World . On the 70th anniversary of Joseph Schmidt's death, a new, heavily revised edition was published by Römerhof Verlag in Zurich.
