Life

He entered the Danish diplomatic service and was Secretary of the Legation, first from 1850 to 1852 at the Danish legation in Paris, then in London. From January to December 1857 he was here Chargé d'affaires , since the post of ambassador was vacant at this time. After the death of his father in 1869 he inherited Ruhleben.

He was first married to Countess Malwine Louise Anna Reventlow (* December 17, 1831; † August 28, 1857) since May 27, 1854 , then since September 24, 1860 with Countess Bertha Louise Camilla Reventlou (* October 2, 1835; † August 16, 1869) and finally from December 2, 1873 with Countess Marie Louise Christiane Reventlou on Farve (December 2, 1833; † December 27, 1910). His second and third wife were sisters and daughters of Ernst Christian von Reventlow . The sons Heinrich Ernst Carl Christian (born June 26, 1861), Ernst Friedrich (born November 4, 1862) and Christian Conrad Carl (born January 3, 1864) came from the second marriage.
