Alfred Grannas

Alfred Grannas is a German diplomat . He has been ambassador to Norway since mid-2018 .

career

Grannas joined the Foreign Service in 1990 .

First assignments took him to Lima , to the permanent mission to the United Nations in New York and for the United Nations in Kosovo . He also worked for a while in the office of the High Representative for Bosnia-Herzegovina . After working as the head of the Strategy and Control Task Force in the Federal Foreign Office , the years 2006 to 2010 brought him to the embassy in Norway for the first time .

As a result, he headed the Humanitarian Aid Task Force at the Foreign Office . In May 2012 Grannas was appointed Deputy Head of the EU Representation in Afghanistan . He returned to the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin in 2013, where he was initially commissioner for the United Nations and international order and then commissioner for infrastructure and security.

In mid-2018, Grannas was sent to Oslo as an ambassador .

Grannas has been married to a Norwegian since 2001 and has one son.
