Alfred Heldt (born August 7, 1918 ) was a football goalkeeper in Wismar . For ZSG Anker Wismar he played in the East German league in 1949/50 .

Athletic career

In the course of the rebuilding of football in the Baltic Sea city of Wismar after the Second World War, a strong team developed with the SG Wismar Süd , which advanced to the quarter-finals at the 1st Eastern Zone Championship in 1948 . Goalkeeper of this team was the then 30-year-old Alfred Heldt, with whom SG Süd had previously won the state championship in Mecklenburg . In 1949 Wismar Süd was able to repeat both successes, but Heldt was temporarily relegated to the third link by Hartwig and Zarnitz. With the renewed Mecklenburg championship, the team had chosen the newly founded football league of the East German sports committeequalified. Although already 31 years old, Heldt was back in the line-up for Wismar's first league season in 1949/50 , in which the team took on the new name ZSG Anker Wismar. Heldt was in goal in all 26 league games, but could not prevent the ZSG from suffering 15 defeats, including a 0:11 at SG Dresden-Friedrichstadt. Wismar landed in 13th place at the end of the season and then lost the deciding game for relegation against the tied SG Altenburg Nord 2: 3, but without regular goalkeeper Heldt. Since he was later no longer called up in the 1st team, Heldt's last point game was the match between Eintracht Stendal and Anker Wismar (5: 1) on April 16, 1950.
