Alfred Hirsch

Alfred Hirsch (born February 5, 1961 in Emsdetten ) is Professor of Philosophy at the University of Witten-Herdecke and Senior Fellow at the Institute for Cultural Studies in Essen .

Life

Hirsch completed a degree in philosophy, German and political science in Münster, Hamburg and Paris. In 1992 he received his doctorate from the Ruhr University Bochum under the supervision of Bernhard Waldenfels . He received a research fellow from New York State University. In 2002 he completed his habilitation at the University of Hildesheim. Hirsch taught at the Université Paris Sorbonne / IV , RWTH Aachen and the University of Duisburg-Essen .
