Alfred Lorenz (life dates unknown) was a German football player .

Career

The younger brother of the co-founders of the Berlin football club Hertha 1892 , Otto and Willi Lorenz , was a member of the club from the very beginning. As a player in the first team, Laura , as Alfred Lorenz was called by his teammates, was not a member until 1901, when he immediately became a fixture.

In the championship, which was organized in two groups by the Berliner Ballspielvereine , he finished second in group 2 with the team as a newcomer in its debut season . From 1902 to 1907 he played with and for his team for the first time in the league with seven other teams who determined the champions in home and away games.

With the eighth place at the end of the 1902/03 season , which would have meant relegation because a player who was not eligible to play and all points were withdrawn, he still remained in the league with his team because the originally last-placed BFC Concordia 1895 was relegated. He finished the seasons 1903/04 and 1904/05 with his team in fourth place.

At the end of the 1905/06 season he won the Berlin championship title for the first time with the blue-whites . He and his team took part in the final round of the 1906 German Championship . The first encounter in the quarterfinals was mastered 7-0 on April 20 in Dresden against SC Schlesien Breslau , but the semifinals held on May 6 in Berlin were lost 3-2 against eventual champions VfB Leipzig - despite the penalty from converted hit to 1: 1 in the 27th minute. The 1906/07 season , his last before ending his playing career, finished in fifth.
