Alfred Paul Zeller

Alfred Paul Zeller (born April 2, 1931 in Waldshut ; † December 16, 2006 in Saarbrücken ) was a German publicist and translator.

He studied philology in Munich and began working as a lecturer for Droemer-Knaur-Verlag in 1956 . In addition to lexicographical works (Knaurs Lexikon von A – Z, Munich 1956) he was involved in the publication of numerous art and cultural history works, especially from French. In the 1960s, he made a significant contribution to the spread of contemporary art in Germany. The Pater Brown stories by Gilbert Keith Chesterton are particularly noteworthy among the translations from English .

In the 1970s he was editor-in-chief of the Stuttgart Wissen-Verlag, responsible for the edition of several encyclopedic compilations ( Wissen , Enzyklopädie 2000 , Briefmarken , Moderne Familie ). Zeller wrote a large number of non-fiction books in various fields of knowledge, from cookbooks to health guides.
