Alfred Pohlmann , also Richard Karl Alfred Pohlmann , (born November 18, 1848 in Klein Schwarzlosen ; † February 3, 1927 in Storbeck ) was a German Protestant clergyman and writer.

Life

After completing high school in Stendal , he studied theology at the University of Halle . Then worked as a private tutor. In 1879 he took up his spiritual office as city vicar in Baden-Baden . From 1880 to 1883 he was pastor in Schernikau near Stendal. From 1883 to 1923 he worked as a pastor in Flessau in the Osterburg district. In 1910/11 he held the post of superintendent in Osterburg .

As a writer, he wrote Low German poems and in Altmark newspapers and in the Almanac Altmarkischer Hausfreund . He is still known today as a collector of legends that he published in 1901 and 1914. A handwritten history of the village of Flessau is owned by the family. Due to the small number of interested parties, it could not be relocated for cost reasons. His grandson Martin Pohlmann published them from 1965 as contributions to the history of the village of Flessau in the annual reports of the Altmark Association for Patriotic History .
