Alfred Preussner

Friedrich August Alfred Preussner (* on November 12, 1929 in Gevelsberg † on November 30, 2019 in Bensheim-Auerbach ) was a politician of the FDP , hairdressing entrepreneur and honorary president of the Central Association of the German Hairdressing Trade .

education and profession

The son of a painter who died prematurely and a hairdresser trained as a hairdresser in his mother's salon, successfully passed the journeyman's and master's examination in the hairdressing trade in order to be able to work independently with his first wife and mother. With his first wife Helga Preußner he opened his own hairdressing salon in Gevelsberg .

politics

Politically oriented and engaged Preussner in the FDP, whose local association Gevelsberg he headed for many years as chairman. As a member of the district council of the Liberals in the Ennepe-Ruhr district , he served for 10 years, a Bundestag candidacy remained without the desired success. After more than 45 years of membership, he resigned from the FDP.

Professional offices

As chairman of the guild association of the hairdressing trade Westphalia-Lippe , which he headed for 33 years, he made a great contribution to promoting regional medium-sized companies and training young people, especially disadvantaged young people. From 1987 to 2002 he was President of the Central Association of the German Hairdressing Trade . During the last few years as President he was also elected Vice President of the Central Association of German Crafts . He also took on management tasks in the World Association of Hairdressers and, among other things, brought the World Hairdressing Championship to Germany twice. Even after his resignation, he was active as a speaker in the areas of trade policy, association theory and hairdressing-specific areas.

He lived with his wife in Bensheim an der Bergstrasse since 2008 .
