Alfred Resenberg

Alfred Resenberg (born September 5, 1942 in Bad Wildungen ) is a former German football player and coach . He won the German Cup in 1970 with the Offenbacher Kickers.

Player and coach

The defender initially played from 1965 to 1968 in the Regionalliga Süd with the Offenbacher Kickers . In his debut year in the RL Süd 1965/66 Resenberg came under coach Kurt Baluses on 30 missions and thus helped to achieve the runner-up behind 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 . The best goalscorer in the team from Bieberer Berg was Siegfried Gast with 21 goals in the world championship year . When Offenbach won the championship in front of Bayern Hof in 1967 , Resenberg had played 34 games. In the 1967/68 season he rose with the Offenbacher Kickers as a South runner-up in the 1st Bundesliga. Resenberg and his teammates Rudolf Wimmer , Ferdinand Heidkamp , Egon Schmitt , Hermann Nuber , Roland Weida and Gerd Becker prevailed over Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the promotion round . It was the third attempt by the Offenbachers. Resenberg and colleagues were already in the Bundesliga promotion round in 1966 and 1967. In the Bundesliga round 1968/69 he played 32 Bundesliga games and scored one goal. Resenberg rose immediately from the Bundesliga with the OFC as bottom of the table. In the Regionalliga Süd, Resenberg immediately celebrated the championship with Offenbach in 1969/70 and also prevailed in the promotion round against Hertha Zehlendorf Berlin, VfL Wolfsburg, FK Pirmasens and VfL Bochum and thus managed to return to the Bundesliga immediately. The solid defender played all eight promotion games for Offenbach from May 27 to June 24, 1970. His personal share in winning the DFB Cup with the Offenbacher Kickers in 1970 in the 2-1 win against 1. FC Köln was due to his participation in the first main round on January 3, 1970 in the 4-1 home win against TSV 1860 Munich . For professional and family reasons, he moved to the North Hessian traditional club KSV Hessen Kassel in the Regionalliga Süd in 1970/71 . On August 15, 1970, the first game day in the southern league kicked off and the final game in the DFB-Pokal 1969/70 was not played until August 29, 1970. From 1970/71 to 1974/75 Alfred Resenberg was used in the defense at KSV Hessen Kassel.

Resenberg distinguished himself in addition to his combative qualities by wide objections and regulated the traffic in the Offenbach city center at the intersection of Waldstrasse / Bieberer Strasse (Alter Markt) as a traffic policeman.

He then became a coach. Among other things, he coached the Gudensberg football club TSV Eintracht Gudensberg in 1861.

Today Alfred Resenberg lives in Gudensberg.
