Tamar Yellin
Tamar Yellin (* 1963 in Leeds ) is a British author . She was born in northern England and studied Arabic and Hebrew in Oxford . Today she lives in Yorkshire . Her father's family is from Jerusalem and her mother is the daughter of a Polish immigrant. Her first (and so far only) novel The Legacy of Shalom Sheper was published in German in 2008 . For this work she was awarded the Sami Rohr Prize and the Ribalow Prize for Jewish Literature . The novel has been translated into Spanish and Polish , among others . She has also published short stories in various magazines and in the short story book Kafka in Bronteland and other stories , which gathers short stories from 1989 to 2003.
