Alfred Rohmeis

Alfred Rohmeis (born November 21, 1932 in Groß-Karben , Friedberg district ; † November 28, 2000 in Willich ) was a German SPD politician .

education and profession

Rohmeis first attended elementary school and then the Oberrealgymnasium. He attended a railway technical school and trained as a young helper, responsible for operations, traffic and administration, at the Deutsche Bundesbahn . Later he was an employee of the Union of Railway Workers in Germany . From 1957 to 1963 he was youth education advisor in Frankfurt am Main. In addition, he was also the state manager and educational director of this further training facility.

politics

Rohmeis had been a member of the SPD since 1961. Until 1963 he was chairman of the SPD local association in Okarben , Hesse, and from 1964 to 1970 he was chairman of the local SPD association Schiefbahn. He was also a member of the local council of Schiefbahn from 1964 to 1970 , where he was parliamentary group chairman and first deputy mayor. From 1970 to 1975 he was the citizen's representative in Kempen near Krefeld. In addition, Rohmeis was a city council member in Willich from 1970 to 1985, where he was also first deputy mayor from 1970 to 1975.

Rohmeis moved up on January 28, 1985 in the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia , in which he was until the end of the ninth electoral term on May 29, 1985.

Honors

Rohmeis was awarded the Order of Merit of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia on June 4, 1993 .
