The 2010 NBA All-Star Game took place on February 14, 2010 in Arlington (in the greater Dallas , Texas area ). The 59th All-Star Game was played during the 2009-2010 season at Cowboys Stadium , the home of the NFL team Dallas Cowboys , and achieved the greatest backdrop for a basketball game with 108,713 spectators.

Commissioner David Stern announced the award of the All-Star Games to Dallas on October 30, 2008. The 1986 NBA All-Star Game was the last and only All-Star Game to take place in the greater Dallas- Fort-Worth - Arlington area.

The All-Star Weekend began on February 12, 2010 with the Celebrity Game and the Rookie Challenge . The event continued on Saturday with the All-Star Saturday Night . During the All-Star Saturday Night the Shooting Stars Competition , the Skills Challenge , the Three-Point Shootout , the Slam Dunk Contest and the H – O – R – S – E Competition took place. Furthermore, the D-League Dream Factory Friday Night took place on Friday and the D-League All-Star Game on Saturday.

In the All-Star Game, the selection of the Eastern Conference won the game 141: 139. Dwyane Wade was voted the most valuable player of the game. The rookies were able to win the Rookie Challenge for the first time since 2002 and Tyreke Evans was named MVP. At All-Star Saturday Night , Paul Pierce won the three-point shootout , Steve Nash the Skills Challenge and Nate Robinson won the Slam Dunk Contest for the third time . The Shooting Stars Competition was won by the team from Texas. Kevin Durant was able to win the H-O-R-S-E competition again.
