The 2011 NBA All-Star Game took place on February 20, 2011 in Los Angeles . The 60th All-Star Game was played at the Staples Center , the home of the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers . The two clubs were considered the official hosts of the All-Star Games. The award of the All-Star Games to Los Angeles was announced on June 9, 2009 by Commissioner David Stern . It was the second time since 2004 that the All-Star Game took place at the Staples Center and, after 1963 , 1972 , 1983 and 2004, the fifth time in Los Angeles.

The Western Conference team won 148: 143 against the Eastern Conference team. Kobe Bryant was voted MVP of the All-Star Games with 37 points and 14 rebounds . LeBron James was the second player after Michael Jordan to score a triple-double in an All-Star Game with 29 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists .

Trainer

The head coaches of the two All-Star teams are traditionally the two coaches whose team leads the respective conference two weeks before the game. For the team of the Western Conference was therefore Gregg Popovich in charge, coach of the San Antonio Spurs . The team of the Eastern Conference was the coach of the Boston Celtics , Doc Rivers , supervised. For both of them it was their second participation as head coach of an all-star team.

Squad

The players (2 guards, 2 forwards and 1 center per conference) who receive the most votes via fan voting are allowed into the starting five . After the election, the 30 head coaches of the NBA clubs choose another seven players for the team in their conference (five of them in five positions, two more independent of position), so that a total of 24 players take part in this event.
