NBA
Washington Wizards (2008–2012)
McGee was selected 18th by the Washington Wizards in the 2008 NBA Draft , becoming the first player to be drafted into the NBA whose mother had played in the WNBA. In its first two seasons, the center averaged 6.5 points and 4 rebounds per game and came into play mainly from the bench.
It was only in his third season, 2010/11 , that he made his breakthrough, not least because he was brought onto the Wizards' starting line-up and got 11 minutes more playing time per game. After 48 games he was able to record just over 9 points and almost 8 rebounds per game. Up until then, only Andrew Bogut could beat his 2.5 blocks per game .
On January 6, 2011, it was announced that McGee would participate in the 2011 NBA Slam Dunk Contest.
Denver Nuggets (2012-2015)

Los Angeles Lakers (since 2018)
From the Warriors McGee switched to direct competitor Los Angeles Lakers , who had previously secured the rights to superstar LeBron James .
National team
