Eric Bledsoe (born December 9, 1989 in Birmingham , Alabama ) is an American basketball player who is currently under contract with the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA .
Career
college
He played for the University of Kentucky Wildcats in his college career , but mostly as a shooting guard , not point guard , his preferred position. When he moved to the NBA, he had averaged 11.3 points in one year for the Wildcats.
NBA
Bledsoe was selected in the 2010 NBA Draft as the 18th pick by the Oklahoma City Thunder and shortly thereafter transferred to the Los Angeles Clippers . At the end of his first season he was elected to the All-Rookie Second Team . In 2012, Bledsoe was briefly loaned to the Clippers farm team , the Bakersfield Jam . However, he remained a backup of Chris Paul . Because of his athleticism and spectacular style of play, Bledsoe was also called "Mini- LeBron " during his time with the Clippers .
After a strong third year in which he scored 8.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game, Bledsoe was transferred from the Clippers to the Phoenix Suns on July 10, 2013 . On his debut, he supported the team with 22 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists in a 104: 91 win over the Portland Trail Blazers . With the Suns Bledsoe finally achieved the breakthrough in the 13/14 season . He increased his statistical values to 17.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game. In the summer of 2014, he received a contract extension of 70 million US dollars for five years.
After another good season with the Suns, he injured himself on the meniscus in his left knee in the 15/16 season , with which he could only complete 31 games for the Suns. Until then, he had played his best season individually with 20.4 points per game. He returned from his injury in the 16/17 season . While the season did not go particularly well for his team, the Suns, Bledsoe was even able to improve his individual values from the previous year. He also scored more than 40 points in his NBA career for the first time this season. He did this three times during the season.
At the beginning of the 17/18 season, Bledsoe publicly complained about his team, the Phoenix Suns, via social media . As a result, Bledsoe was traded by the Suns to the Milwaukee Bucks a few weeks later . In return, the Suns received Center Greg Monroe , as well as a protected first-round and second-round pick for the 2018 NBA draft .
