DeVante Jaylen "DJ" Wilson (born February 19, 1996 in Mount Shasta , California ) is an American basketball player who is under contract with the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA . He plays in the position of the power forward .
High school and college
After Wilson attended the Capital Christian School in Sacramento , he decided to play for the Wolverines of the University of Michigan . After three years in college, Wilson signed up for the 2017 NBA draft . In his final 2016/17 college season, he recorded 11 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game.
NBA
On June 22, 2017, Wilson was selected in 17th position by the Milwaukee Bucks . On October 20, 2017, he made his debut in the NBA against the Cleveland Cavaliers . Wilson also played several times for the Bucks' farm team, the Wisconsin Herd , in his first 2017-18 season . In the following season 2018/19 he missed the first 22 games of the season due to an Achilles tendon injury. After his return, he was initially used for the stove before he was slowly reintegrated into the Bucks team in December. After Ersan İlyasova sustained an injury, Wilson got more minutes. On December 27, he marked his first double-double in his NBA career with 10 points and 14 rebounds . On January 31, 2019, he scored 16 points against the Toronto Raptors , a new career high in this category.
