Horse (ball game)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Horse (HORSE) is a simple game , the aim of which is to copy the actions of other players as well as possible. This very general game principle is used in various sports; Horse is particularly popular in basketball and among skateboarders .

Gameplay

The starting player defines the following action (e.g. in the basketball throw from the three-point line with eyes closed) and performs it. If it was successful, the other players must copy it. Any player who fails to do this is given a letter of the word "HORSE". When a player has collected all five letters, he has lost and the remaining players continue to play until a winner is determined.

HORSE games at the NBA

After a first attempt in 1977/78, HORSE competitions were held again in the 2008/2009 season during the All-Star Saturday Night of the NBA . At All Star Weekend 2010, defending champion Kevin Durant faced Rajon Rondo of the Boston Celtics and Omri Casspi of the Sacramento Kings . Caspi was eliminated first, so that Kevin Durant faced Rajon Rondo in the final. Since the Slam Dunk Contest , Three-Point Shootout and the NBA Skills Challenge were scheduled immediately after the HORSE Game, due to the time pressure in the final between Rondo and Durant, the competition was converted into a throw from the triple line, which Durant won .
