NBA All-Star Weekend Three-Point Shootout

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The three-point shootout takes place annually as part of the NBA All-Star Weekend . The basketball competition of the season's best three-point shooters, which has been held since 1986, includes eight players. Each player has five balls available five times, which are distributed in five different positions around the three-point line . Shall be the last ball of a 5-series is the so-called Moneyball that if two points is worth transforms. All other transformed balls count as one point. The time taken to throw the 25 balls only once is 60 seconds. The winner is whoever earns the most points after two elimination rounds in the final.

The competition for the best 3-man shooter became known through the Hall of Famer Larry Bird , who won all of them for the first three years. The record holder is Jason Kapono , who hit 20 of 25 litters in the last round in 2008. He also set a new record for the final round with 25 points. He thus neutralized the record set by Craig Hodges in 1990 . Hodges, in turn, managed to land 19 hits in a row in 1991.

Acting title holder is Joe Harris of the Brooklyn Nets .
