Roger Philip Mason, Jr. (born September 10, 1980 in Washington, DC ) is a retired American basketball player .

Mason played at the University of Virginia during his college years . In the NBA Draft 2002 he was selected by the Chicago Bulls in the second round with the 31st pick, for which he then played the entire 2002/03 season and the first three games of the 2003/04 season . After that he was given to the Toronto Raptors in exchange for Rick Brunson .

He was active in Europe for some time. In the 2004/05 season Mason played for Olympiacos in Greece and in the 2005/06 season in Israel at Hapoel Jerusalem. In July 2006, he went to Japan to join OSG Phoenix, but left the team after being offered a contract with the Washington Wizards . He played two seasons in Washington.

On July 11, 2008, Mason signed a two-year contract with the San Antonio Spurs . After this contract expired, he signed a one-year contract with the New York Knicks in 2010 . For the 2011/2012 season he moved again and signed a contract with the Washington Wizards . After a year in Washington Mason moved again and received a contract with the New Orleans Hornets .
