Travis Brigley (born June 16, 1977 in Coronation , Alberta ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player who last played until the summer of 2013 for the Bentley Generals in the Canadian amateur league Chinook Hockey League .

Career

Brigley began his career in 1993 with the Lethbridge Hurricanes in the Canadian Junior Western Hockey League . After showing good performance in his second season, the winger improved in the 1995/96 season and was one of the most important players in the team with 77 points from 69 games. Then some were NHL - scouts noticed him, so Brigley during the NHL Entry Draft in 1996 to 39th position by the second lap Calgary Flames selected. The Canadian played another year in the WHL and switched to the Calgary Flames for the 1997/98 season , who mainly used him on their farm team , the Saint John Flames . Overall, the attacker completed two NHL games in which he could not achieve a scorer point.

Several club changes followed before Travis Brigley signed a contract with the Colorado Avalanche in 2003 as a free agent . There, however, the striker played only one season and then joined due to the NHL lockout in 2004 to Vålerenga Ishockey from the Norwegian ligaen GET to. In 21 games, the Canadian was able to achieve 19 points scorer for the Norwegian record champions. Further career stations were the New York Islanders and the Edmonton Oilers , who only used the then 28-year-old in their farm teams.

After a renewed engagement in the NHL had become unlikely, the left shooter moved to the German ice hockey league for the Augsburg Panthers for the 2006/07 season . There the attacker developed into one of the top performers and completed 103 games for the Panthers in two years, in which he was able to achieve 89 points. In summer 2008, Travis Brigley signed a contract with league rivals Hamburg Freezers , for which he went on the ice in the 2008/09 season . He then moved to HDD Olimpija Ljubljana in the Austrian Ice Hockey League . Shortly before Christmas, the Canadian, who at that time was behind his compatriot Frank Banham in second place in the team's internal scorer ranking, left the team for personal reasons and returned to North America. There he played from 2010 for the Bentley Generals in the Canadian amateur league Chinook Hockey League , before Brigley ended his active career following the 2012/13 season.
