Tobias John Harris (born July 15, 1992 in Islip , New York ) is an American basketball player who is currently under contract with the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA .

NBA career

After a year in college for the Tennessee Volunteers , Harris signed up for the 2011 NBA Draft . In the annual talent poll, Harris was first selected in 19th place by the Charlotte Bobcats , but shortly afterwards transferred to the Milwaukee Bucks . In his first year with the Bucks, he scored 5.0 points and 2.4 rebounds.

In the middle of his sophomore year, Harris was transferred to the Orlando Magic , among other things in exchange for JJ Redick . At the Magic Harris got a lot of playing time and tripled his stats. He scored 17.3 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 36 minutes per game in 27 games for the Magic. On February 16, Harris was given to the Detroit Pistons in exchange for Brandon Jennings and Ersan İlyasova .

In late January, Harris moved from the Pistons to the Los Angeles Clippers as part of a swap deal for Blake Griffin . With the Clippers he put the best numbers of his career in the second half of the season with 19.3 points, 6 rebounds and 3.1 assists in an average of 34.5 minutes on the field. He improved these numbers again at the beginning of the 2018/19 season and was named Western Conference Player of the Month in October and November respectively .

On February 6, 2019, Harris was transferred to the Philadelphia 76ers along with Boban Marjanović and Mike Scott in exchange for Landry Shamet , Wilson Chandler and Mike Muscala as well as two first and two second round picks .

Harris is the cousin of former NBA player Channing Frye .
