Landry Michael Shamet (born March 13, 1997 in Kansas City ) is an American basketball player who currently plays for the Los Angeles Clippers in the NBA .

career

Shamet has received scholarship offers from several prestigious NCAA First Division colleges , including Wichita State University , Kansas State University, and the University of Illinois , for his good performance on the Park Hill High School team . He ultimately accepted the offer from Wichita State and was part of the Shockers' team for the 2015/16 season .

By the end of the 2017/18 season, he played 71 games for Wichita State and was 69 times in the starting lineup. He achieved averages of 12.9 points, 4.1 basket assists and 3.0 rebounds per use. In his freshman year 2015/16, Shamet suffered a fatigue fracture in his left foot and therefore only played three games. At the end of July 2017, the playmaker sustained the same injury in his right foot.

After his junior year 2017/18, in which he led Wichita State as the best scorer (14.9 points per game) and assists (5.2 assists per encounter), Shamet decided to switch to the professional camp. When draft process of the NBA in June 2018 he was appointed as a total of 26 players from the Philadelphia 76ers selected.

In February 2019, Shamet, along with Wilson Chandler and Mike Muscala , was transferred to the Los Angeles Clippers . In return, Tobias Harris , Boban Marjanović and Mike Scott moved to the 76ers.
