Chicago Bulls

Noah signed up for the 2007 NBA Draft and was drafted in ninth position by the Chicago Bulls , for whom he then played number 13 for years. His first two years Noah was an important bench player, in his third year he had his breakthrough when he put on an average of 10.7 points and 11.0 rebounds per game. In addition to his good rebound work, Noah also distinguishes his defense and passing quality as a center player. In 2011 he was appointed to the second NBA All-Defensive Team . In 2014, Noah was named Defensive Player of the Year for the NBA; at the same time he achieved his best season so far with an average of 12.6 points, 11.3 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game, for which he was elected for the first time in the All-NBA First Team and again in the NBA All-Defensive First Team. In 2015 Noah won the J. Walter Kennedy Citizenship Award for social engagement.

In the 2015/16 season, Noah fell out of rotation under the new coach Fred Hoiberg . After a serious shoulder injury, Noah was out for the rest of the season. Until then he had only played 29 games, in which he averaged 4.3 points and 8.8 rebounds.

The Knicks split from Noah in February 2018 after a heated argument with then coach Jeff Hornacek .

Immediately before the start of his third season, the Knicks waived Noah's services with the help of the so-called stretch commission, which allowed the team to offset their wages from the last contractually secured season from 2019 for three years against the salary cap and thus free up funds for new signings.
