Ivica Zubac (born March 18, 1997 in Mostar , Bosnia and Herzegovina ) is a Croatian basketball player . From 2016 to 2019 he was under contract with the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA . He has been active for the Los Angeles Clippers since 2019 .

Career

Europe

Zubac comes from the youth department of Cibona Zagreb and played in the 2013/14 season for KK Zrinjevac Zagreb in the Croatian second division. In the following season he rose to the first team of Cibona Zagreb . He then played in the first Croatian league A-1. In February 2016 he left Cibona due to the team's financial difficulties and signed with Mega Leks in Serbia.

NBA

On June 23, 2016, Zubac was drafted with the 32nd pick by the Los Angeles Lakers . On July 7th, he signed his rookie contract and played the subsequent NBA Summer League . He made his debut in the NBA on November 2, 2016, scoring six points against the Atlanta Hawks . His best game to date for the Lakers was against the Denver Nuggets on March 13, 2017 . He scored 25 points and 11 rebounds. On March 31, 2017, Zubac injured his ankle and was therefore no longer available for the rest of the 2016/17 NBA season . During his rookie season, he made several appearances for the South Bay Lakers in the NBA Gatorade League .

At the 2019 trade deadline, he was transferred from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Los Angeles Clippers .

Private

Zubac grew up in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the town of Čitluk near the Croatian border. He has dual citizenship but identifies himself as a Croat.
