Zacharie Noah (born February 2, 1937 in Yaoundé ; † January 8, 2017 there ) was a French - Cameroonian football player .
Athletic career
Born in Cameroon, which was still under French rule at the time, Noah made his debut in French football in 1956 for Stade Saint-Germain , a forerunner to Paris Saint-Germain . Just one year later, the defender joined the top division UA Sedan-Torcy , for whom he played in Division 1 until 1962 . The greatest success was winning the Coupe de France in 1961.
During his time in Sedan, Noah's son Yannick was born, who was successful as a tennis player . His grandson Joakim Noah is also active in professional sports as a basketball player. His father Simon Noah was killed in a coup in Cameroon in 1985.
Noah died in January 2017 just under a month before his 80th birthday.
