Alvin Cyrrale Robertson (born July 22, 1962 in Barberton , Ohio ) is a retired American basketball player. He played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) from 1984 to 1996 and became an Olympic champion in 1984 as a member of the US national team .

Career

Robertson belonged to the San Antonio Spurs (1984-1989), where he had his most successful years, the Milwaukee Bucks (1989-1993), the Detroit Pistons (1993) and the Toronto Raptors (1995-1996). In 1986 he was the second of four players to date who managed to achieve a so-called quadruple double , which is characterized by achieving double-digit values ​​in four different categories. Robertson scored 20 points, 11  rebounds , 10  assists and 10  steals on February 18, 1986 in a game for the San Antonio Spurs against the Phoenix Suns .

In the 1985/86 season he was awarded the NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award and the NBA Most Improved Player Award for the first time as best defender . He was also called up four times in his career for the NBA All-Star Game . He led the league in steals three times.

Others

In February 2010, Robertson was arrested for sexually abusing a minor. In November 2015, however, he was acquitted on all charges.
