Nelison "Nick" Anderson (born January 20, 1968 in Chicago , Illinois ) is a former American basketball player who was active between 1989 and 2002 in the NBA .

NBA

Anderson was selected in the 1989 NBA draft by the newly formed Orlando Magic in 11th place. He played ten years for the Magic and reached with these at the side of Shaquille O'Neal and Penny Hardaway the NBA final in 1995, where you had to give up the Houston Rockets .

Anderson became a tragic figure when he missed four free throws in a row in the last minutes of the first final game and thus gave up the game. The Magic also lost the next three games. He had his best game on April 23, 1993 against the New Jersey Nets . Coming from the bench, the swingman scored 50 points. The 1992–93 season was also his personal best, scoring 19.9 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game.

In 1999 he left Magic as the most successful points collector in team history and was transferred to the Sacramento Kings . After two years with the Kings, Anderson moved to the Memphis Grizzlies , where he was rarely used.

He then retired in 2002 and later worked for Orlando Magic , as well as commentator on Magic games for Fox Sports Networks .
