Arron Agustin Afflalo (born October 15, 1985 in Los Angeles , California ) is a retired American basketball player who was active in the NBA from 2007 to 2018 . He was mostly used in the shooting guard and small forward positions .

career

college

Afflalo played two seasons for the UCLA Bruins . There he won several awards and twice reached the NCAA Division I Basketball Championship tournament.

NBA

Afflalo was voted 27th by the Detroit Pistons in the 2007 NBA Draft . After two seasons, he joined the Denver Nuggets in July 2009 with Walter Sharpe .

During his time with the Nuggets, Afflalo quickly established himself as a regular player and started 2010-11 and 2011-12 in all games for the Nuggets. In August 2012 he was transferred from the Nuggets to the Orlando Magic .

Afflalo returned to Denver for the 2014/2015 season. In return, shooting guard Evan Fournier moved to Orlando.

After only half a season in Denver, Afflalo and his teammate Alonzo Gee were handed over to the Portland Trail Blazers before the transfer deadline . However, he left the Blazers at the end of the season and moved to the New York Knicks . After a season with the Knicks, Afflalo signed a contract with the Sacramento Kings until 2018. In June 2017, Afflalo was fired by the Kings. His last NBA station was the Orlando Magic in 2018.
