Quentin L. Richardson (born April 13, 1980 in Chicago , Illinois ) is a retired American basketball player .

Career

Since 2000 he played in the US professional league NBA , initially with the Los Angeles Clippers , who voted him 18th in the 2000 NBA Draft . In the 2003-04 season he had his best NBA year with 17.2 points and 6.4 rebounds on average. He moved to the Phoenix Suns in summer 2004 and played with the New York Knicks from 2005 . In July 2009 he was given to the Memphis Grizzlies as part of a trade for Darko Milicic . Richardson immediately traded them on to Los Angeles. Quentin Richardson returns to the Los Angeles Clippers for Zach Randolph . But even here he was immediately traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves , who also passed him on to the Miami Heat and there he went into the 2009/10 season . Richardson is 1.98 meters tall and played both shooting guard and small forward . From 2010 to 2012 Richardson played, in a smaller role, for Orlando Magic and reached the play-offs with the team in both years . In the course of the pre-season 2012/13 the Magic deleted him from the squad by option and dissolved his contract.

Initially, Richardson did not find a new club for the 2012/13 season and limited himself to private training. At the end of the regular season, he was finally signed by his former club, the New York Knicks . For this he only played one game. In this he scored 5 points and got 10 rebounds. The Knicks transferred him to the Toronto Raptors before the new season . However, he was released by the Raptors before the start of the 2012/13 season. In 2014, Richardson retired from professional basketball and has been the director of player development for the Detroit Pistons ever since .

At the Allstar Weekend 2005 in Denver, Richardson won the three-point competition ahead of Kyle Korver of the Chicago Bulls .

He was engaged to R&B singer Brandy Norwood from July 2004 to December 2005 .
