Anthony Jarrad Morrow (born September 27, 1985 in Charlotte , North Carolina ) is a retired American basketball player who was active in the North American professional league NBA from 2008 to 2017 . Morrow was best known for his good distance throw .
Career
Morrow played for Charlotte Latin High School as a teenager , scoring 22 points per game. He then joined Georgia Tech University and was the team's top scorer in his senior year with 14 points per game .
Morrow made himself available for the 2008 NBA draft , but was not selected and was later able to recommend himself as a free agent over training camp at the Golden State Warriors , which obliged him to pay a minimum salary as a rookie . In the shooting guard position, he surprisingly prevailed against the higher-rated Jamal Crawford and Marco Belinelli , took part in 67 games and scored 37 points in his first match in the starting five , the highest score in NBA history for a player in its first season. Also in the 2008/09 season he achieved a hit rate of 46.7% with 86 successful three-point throws and thus the first place in this player statistics. He was the first rookie to do this.
In July 2010, Morrow switched to the New Jersey Nets by means of a “sign-and-trade” deal . On February 3, 2012, Morrow scored 42 points against the Minnesota Timberwolves, his personal career record.
On July 11, 2012 Morrow was transferred to the Atlanta Hawks along with four other Nets players in exchange for Joe Johnson . On February 21, 2013, he moved to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for Dahntay Jones . For the Mavericks too, Morrow was mostly used as a bench player. However, he missed the 2013 play-offs with the team and was no longer given a new contract.
For the NBA 2013/14 Morrow got a contract with the New Orleans Pelicans , which was terminated after a season. Morrow then signed a contract with the Thunder from Oklahoma City in the summer of 2014 .
