Dahntay Jones (born December 27, 1980 in Trenton , New Jersey ) is an American basketball player. It can be used in the shooting guard and small forward positions.

In the 2003 NBA Draft he was selected by the Boston Celtics and transferred directly to Memphis , where he played until 2007. In 2007/08 he was active for the Sacramento Kings for a good two months . Another brief interlude with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants followed . From August 2008 he played for the Denver Nuggets for one year . After Jones moved to the Dallas Mavericks at the beginning of the 2012/2013 season, he was transferred to the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for Anthony Morrow during the season . On September 27, 2013, Jones joined the Chicago Bulls . As early as October 8, 2013, it was announced that the Chicago Bulls would waive Jones. Jones signed a contract with the Utah Jazz in September 2014 , but was fired before the regular season began. He was drawn to the D-League for the time being before signing a 10-day contract with the Los Angeles Clippers in early January 2015 , which was later extended to the end of the season. In the summer of 2015, he signed with the Brooklyn Nets , but there was no permanent position beyond the pre-season. In 2015/16, Jones first played in the D-League before being signed by the Cleveland Cavaliers in April 2016 . With these he won the NBA championship.
