The AT & T Stadium is an American football - stadium with closable roof in the US city of Arlington in the state of Texas , located between the cities of Dallas and Fort Worth . It serves as the venue for the Dallas Cowboys' NFL games .
The stadium has the largest unsupported interior space and, from Mitsubishi Electric, has two of the largest 46.3 x 21.9 m HD screens in the world. It has 80,000 seats and up to 30,000 additional standing places - depending on the type of event.
On July 25, 2013, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones announced that the Dallas Cowboys had reached an agreement with the telecommunications company AT&T to acquire the naming rights to the stadium. The Arlington arena is now called AT&T Stadium . The company pays each year about 17 to 19 million US dollars to the Cowboys .
Events
Country singer George Strait held the first public concert at Cowboys Stadium on June 6, 2009. The first sporting event wasn't a football game , but a football game between Costa Rica and Guadeloupe . It was the quarter-finals of the CONCACAF Gold Cup . This broke the attendance record of 1987 at WrestleMania 3 with 93,173 spectators in what was then the Pontiac Silverdome in Detroit .
