history
In 2007 the team was able to qualify for a major tournament for the first time. Qualification took place via fourth place at the 2007 Caribbean Championship . In the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup , the team prevailed as third in the group with a win against Canada, a draw against Haiti and a defeat against Costa Rica and thus reached the quarter-finals. There the team beat Honduras 2-1 and reached the semi-finals, where they lost 1-0 to Mexico .
At the Caribbean Championship 2008 , the team reached third place. Previously, the team lost in the semifinals to Jamaica. In the small final, the team from Guadeloupe won on penalties against Cuba. They qualified for the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2009 , where the team lost 5-1 to Costa Rica in the quarter-finals of the tournament.
At the Caribbean Championship 2010 the team finished second and only lost the final against Jamaica 4-5 on penalties. With this second place the team qualified for the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2011 in the USA .
