The Paul Brown Stadium is a football - stadium in the American US city Cincinnati in the state of Ohio . It is the home ground of the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League (NFL) and replaced the Riverfront Stadium , where the team played from 1970 to 1999. The stadium was named after Paul Brown (* 1908, † 1991), the long-time head coach and general manager of the Bengals . It is nicknamed The Jungle , after the song Welcome to the Jungle by Guns n 'Roses .

The sports facility was built on the banks of the Ohio River from 1998 to 2000 for 455 million US dollars . A few hundred meters east is the Great American Ball Park of the Cincinnati Reds from Major League Baseball (MLB). The stadium site comprises approximately 22 acre (about 8.9 ha ) and the stadium is 157 feet (about 47.85 m) high. The facility was opened on August 19, 2000. It offers 65,515 seats on three grandstand levels, 7,600 of which are club seats. There are also 114 private boxes .
The city of Cincinnati with the Paul Brown Stadium is a possible venue for the 2026 World Cup .
