Super Bowl XI was the last Super Bowl that ended in daylight. All other floodlights always had to be switched on. It was also the first Super Bowl in which the first-placed regular season met in their conference.
Course of the game
In the second quarter, the Raiders took the lead with a field goal . This was followed by two touchdowns in the same quarter , which gave them a 16-0 lead at the end of the first half. Another field goal from Oaklands and a touchdown on the Vikings' side followed in the third quarter, making it 19: 7. In the fourth and final quarter, the Raiders made two more touchdowns, which made the 25-point lead unrecoverable. After a meaningless touchdown by the Vikings, it was 32:14 at the end of the Super Bowl.
